I lay in the dust.
Spine broken, written, and unwritten, the chapters of my life out of reach.
A wisdom-weathered, ink-stained hand touches me.
Lyric rouged lips kiss my tear-stained face.
"Maya?" A breathless whisper escapes me.
Soulful eyes smile.
"Child, lift your pen... and rise."
